Elizabeth’s gentle, kind nature made me feel right at ease and I have experienced great benefit from OMT.

ELIZABETH PIERCE, RDH, OMT
OROFACIAL MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPIST &
FOUNDER OF MASS MYO

With 20 years of experience as a dental hygienist, I have had the privilege of caring for patients and witnessing firsthand how oral health impacts overall well-being. Throughout my career, I have encountered patients with high cavity rates and TMJ disorders.  I've also seen many patients that accumulate build up very quickly, which in turn, can lead to gum disease and furthuring into loss of dentition.  Many of these conditions share a common thread: orofacial myofunctional disorders.

Unfortunately, traditional dental studies and education do not shed light on the why and how patients get to the point they are currently living with.  After being introduced to the myofunctional world by a fellow colleague, it helped me to see dentistry through a different lens by identifying the why and how's.  I was inspired to learn more and to help others.  By furthering my education and becoming an OMT, I am to be able to provide the tools, education, and support in your journey to better functional and overall health.

I strive to provide compassionate, personalized care for my patients. Whether it's a child struggling with oral habits, an adult experiencing chronic jaw pain, or someone seeking to improve their sleep disordered breathing, my goal is to provide each patient with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive.  Often with little time and dedication, OMT can help you create new functional muscular memory.   My approach is rooted in education, prevention, and a genuine commitment to enhancing my patients' quality of life.

Beyond my work, my greatest joy is my family. I've been married to my husband since 2011 and together we have a beautiful 6 year old daughter and fur-son, Eugene.  I have not ventured far from the nest, having grown up and also currently residing in Peabody, MA.  Although, we do spread our wings and enjoy traveling,  we most enjoy spending quality time together with our family and friends.

Helping others has always been at the heart of everything I do. Through myofunctional therapy, I am honored to make a difference, one patient, one breath, and one smile at a time.
